Dr. Marybeth Webster
Dr. Marybeth Webster, Registered Art Therapist, came to Arizona three years ago to build her dream house near Douglas and to dedicate the rest of her working life to encouraging the creativity of people on both sides of the Border. She is the counselor for the Elfrida Chiricahua Clinic project, Sembrando Salud/Sowing Wellness. Her many "incarnations" included elementary teacher, secondary counselor, scientific illustrator (in Oregon, Costa Rica, Honduras, Hawaii), certified marriage and neighborhood mediator, divorce director/counselor of The Divorce Clinic in Honolulu, and college professor. Her 1977 Ph.D. from Union Institute is in community psychology with a minor in community development. Her four adult children have produced only three grandchildren. Marybeth is active in local, state and regional Quaker organizations, and is co-founder of DouglaPrieta Works, a non-profit which is building self-sufficiency in the low-income colonias of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.
