Dr. Jonathan Lee-Melk MD

Raised in rural Wisconsin on a small family farm, I developed a keen interest in the well-being of children early in my undergraduate studies. Later, public health work amongst children living in poverty in both the United States and abroad led me to pursue a medical degree at the Cornell University Medical College in New York City. My interest in children's health has led to work with the Cornell University Department of Public Health, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the University of Costa Rica, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and an ongoing project with the Rural Andean Health Committee in Bolivia, South America. I have just completed my clinical training in pediatrics at the Phoenix Children's Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center Pediatric Residency Program in Phoenix. Referred to as Dr. Jon by my current patients and families, I am thrilled to be joining Chiricauhua Community Health Center's efforts to provide the highest quality care for the children of southeastern Arizona. I look forward to rejoining with my rural roots, and especially towards participating fully with the Douglas and surrounding communities.
